Todays story:

Yesterday i totally screwed up my sleeping schedule. After mom and dad brought there dogs i went back to bed. Slept from 8 till 12 and made it a total sleep of 6 hours what is actually ok. The rest of the day i did stay lazy and mostly played WoW and poker online. At 3 am i finally went back to bed. I just woke up at lunch time. Feeling tired in all my bones. I'm so tempted to open WoW again and waist another day.

Todays story:

Todays story is a real early story. Its 6 am and i'm still awake. I slept for 2 hours When i woke up, i was fully awake and laying in my bed thinking stupid things. I got out and played world of warcraft till in the hope i would get sleepy. I tried sleeping again at 5 but it didn't work. Think this is the first time in my life i can't sleep more than 2 hours. Years ago i could sleep 24 hours a day. This is totally new for me. Somewhere today i must crash. I gave up hope and made a cup coffee, just as i slept enough and starting a normal day. Posting my blog and work on some pictures. Todays picture is the last from the series i made in and around Naarden with the Canon Rebel. Tomorrow i gonna post a Hasselblad image again.

Todays story:

I thought i had to be at my unemployment officer at 10:30 but after i posted my yesterdays blog i did get ready to take a shower. I turned on the shower and started to doubt if it really was 10:30. I turned the shower off and went to my computer to discover i had the meeting at 10. It was already 9:35 and there wasn't time to shower anymore or i would be late. There was no time to go by car either or i had to pay for my parking. I did decide to take my bicycle and as soon as i was rushing on my bike to my appointment it started to snow. Rushing trough big flakes of snow that turned me into a snowman i arrived in time for my appointment. My unemployment officer was weird and when say good morning and shake hands, he obvious didn't like it. Ok, i didn't shower today but i'm not dirty. The preach i did expect didn't happen, that was a good thing, but it was so obvious that it didn't mind what i did say. He told his story as it was a recorded tape and we made a new appointment. I had to pick up a friend at 12 and bring him to the hospital and as soon as i could go, i left. It took ages cause he had to type everything into the computer and i started counting ceiling plates. From his working island at the end of the hall, i could see it did stop snowing and the snowman on me was gone now. But as soon as i hopped on my bicycle it started snowing again. This time i had frontal wind too and my face was hurting, my jeans was soaked and cold and rotating the pedals as fast as i could didn't warm them up anymore.On the front of my jacket was a 3 cm thick layer of snow when i finally arrived home. I quickly took a warm shower to defrost myself. The warm water on my red cold leg felt like it was burning. It was a while ago when we had as much snow as we have this year. I like it and snow makes me happy and that i became an snow (ice)man twice today i take for granted. Still better than those grey winters with icy rains ,we had in the last couple years.

Todays story:

Like i have a job, i woke up at the alarm clock at 8. But i don't have a job. I have to see my unemployment officer today and i feel awful. Its like i have to see the principal of school after doing something wrong and you prepare for the worse. For some reason unemployment officers always treat you as guilty for being lazy, not want to work and to stupid to know how to find a job.

Todays story:

Finally cleaned another Hasselblad image and today i did pick up my Hasselblad. There was a little peace of paper stuck and blocked the mechanics. woohoo i'm, back in Business. We left and early and it did snow tonight. The road had ice on it and most part we could drive 50km/h. But when i could hold my Hassie again i was the happiest man on earth.

Todays story:

I started working on my movie yesterday. Mostly i post my blog before i work on the movie but i did wanna finish that movie cause it took to much of my time and couldn't hear any of those tunes anymore. But when i thought i was done and i did safe it as a HD movie. There was a music conflict that i couldn't get rid off. Tried the entire day but as soon as i did safe again the conflict did come back. I end up doing the movie all over again. It are small 15 minute movies. And i did work till 3 am last night on it. When i saved the last one, there was a new music conflict but i did decide to keep it like this. It was not my idea to make a " making off" and only did it cause they wanted it, but the hell do they know it took me another 8 full days work? I feel used cause i can't deliver stuff i think that are shit. Good that they are friends. But i hate it that people gonna watch it, like it (or not) and than it ends up in some dusty closet. Cause that's how those thing go.

And fuck, do i hate that movie now....

Todays story:

Sunday was gay movie again with friends. This time we did see Ander. The story was cliche and the execution was really boring. Had a few better moments, one is in the trailer. I almost fell asleep, at least 10 times. The hangover didn't help either, but the fact that it did cost 6 euros kept me from sleeping. At home i did work on my own movie again. Finally finished the first of 3 films. I know i spend to much time on that movie but i can't deliver something that is not worth watching. Some say i'm a perfectionist doing this but i don't think thats the case cause there are so many things i still would change, but i don't. There are still 3 parts undone and i want to finish it. Making a making of is as making a new movie. Takes to much time for what you really get.

Todays story:

Sunday morning and waking up slowly. Went to the gay bar last night and had fun and to much beer. The radio plays underworld's Born Slippy (Nuxx). The best hangover sound. After this everything feels better. Sunday mornings are supposes to go slow. The best sundays are when you can hear the clock tick and it feels like there is much more time between every second than on every other normal day. Lets play Born Slippy again.

Todays story:

Hopefully they call me next week for that job. Interview went ok, i think. Presented me as how i'm truly are. Hopefully they look for someone like me. The rest of the day i did work on pictures and finished last weeks session in the snow. I think todays post is one of the best ones i took.

The location is special when you fly over (click link in location to see). Today i start working on a movie again. I worked on it for 3 weeks in November 2009 and did show it very successfully at the party of 2 friends. Now they want a bonus dvd, the making of and with pictures, The slideshow with pictures i made last week but the making of is almost as much work as the movie itself, cause i took 600 small shots and 70% didn't made it into the movie. And of course they want to see those too.

Todays story:

Mom and dad brought some extra beer and a birthday cake when they came and visit me in the morning. One friend had a piece of cake when he came in the evening and drank 2 beer. The rest is left in the fridge and waits for me to have another piece.The beer goes back to mom before the expire date. Remembering last years birthday disappointment i did only expected a few phone calls. Only Jacky did call. She's like a sister to me. For the rest the phone kept quiet. The days people apologize for not coming are over. Thats ok. Its not that i go to everyones birthday either. I know things go both ways. But its always funny how people i never see insist that we come and visit when LeRoy is here from Canada. Its almost like they think i live in Canada too the rest of the year.

Todays story:

I didn't post yesterday and today i'm in a rush posting cause i have to go to the Gay movie at the Plaza Futura. Promised friends i would come too. Yesterday i brought the Hasselblad away to repair. The mirror is stuck and need to be fixed. We drove 400km and thought it would be a good idea to combine the trip with something else. So we drove up to Naarden and a back icy lake were we only were able to snap pictures for 10 minutes. It was to cold, but the results of the shoot was ok. i was a bit disappointed when i uploaded them onto my iMac. But they are ok. We went into Naarden cause i did wanna see if Naarden Vesting would be a good location for a photo-shoot when he is here in february. Don't think it is, cause it looks nice from google maps in a bird's eye view but at the ground its not that special. The best spot there was,is todays picture. Thats it,m i have to run otherwise i'm late for the movie........

I was wondering when the 3 wise men ever return. Every year on the 6th of january 3 wise man come and tell us we may put all our christmas decoration back in storage. Story of the day:

Sitting unemployed home for to many months, i get used at doing nothing. Work on my photos, post a photo on my blog, play online games and even look for work. But jobs are rare and i have no clue what i'm gonna do. And it doesn't matter cause its a temporary job anyway. Days go by really quick, after i woke up its dark and diner time in no time. Life feels so empty in this situation and my life is standing still. Its even worse, it feels like going backwards. Its like i'm in hold and listen to stupid telephone music and the song never ends. Never thought that it would had so much impact on my self esteem. The longer i am unemployed the more i think i can't do things. Before i did look at those things positive. I can't do this, but i am who i am. And i was proud on who i was. Even doing labour jobs to pay the bills and safe money for dreams i want to achieve. I still pay bills but there is no money left for dreams. In a time were i need dreams even more than before. After doing labour jobs i became a social worker, worked with addicted and homeless, worked on the street with addicted prostitutes when they were streetwalking and now i sit home, sip coffee and can't find a job. They don't even invite me for interviews cause i didn't finish my bachelor degree. Its back to labour work. i know but it feels so unfair. I worked hard, think i was good in doing what i did. Going back to labour work feels like a punishment, going to jail and who does a job apply to make clothespins? I can't wait till my social security ends cause that will be a financial disaster. Time is ticking and the end is near. I tell myself things gonna be alright, but i know when i say those words they are empty and i don't believe them anymore. Those words lost effect after months under welfare. I know all the social work answers to this, but know were they end.... doing my time making clothespins for a shitty payment that barely pays my bills and still no money left to dream.

Todays story:

Todays picture is my photo friday shot for the theme bed time. When i was doing my groceries last friday i bought banana's cause i did plan to go to the gym on monday. But more obvious was this huge dildo size carrot in my grocery car. I bought that carrot for cooking Nasi. Indonesian Rice dish. On my way to the shaving isle i did came by the condoms and the lubricant isle.I thought i did read on my walk by that they did write on lube that it was environmental friendly. Which i think would be obvious cause nobody want something irritating in its environment. But when i came closer i did read skin friendly. Are there lubes on the market that make your skin itch? Guess that makes you tingle too. I bought the lube and as soon as came home i did set up my improvised studio. I changed the word tingle into single. Thought that would be even more funny. Did that after i did post but did edit this post later. On the image on this post i kept the tingle on the lube bottle.

I did eat a banana on monday but didn't go to the gym.

Story of today:

I remember taking this image as it was yesterday. We drove up this winding road that would fit in a good car or motorcycle commercial. Suddenly i spotted this and knew i want this picture, i didn't only wanted it, i needed it. On the first occasion there was, i did park the car and grabbed the camera and tripod and walked back. A steep decent but i was determined to get this shot. High up the mountain it was cold too. But it all was worth it. I think its my best shot from 2008. It always did remind me at this shot i made in the alps a few years before.

Todays story:

Photoshop had problems saving this triptych cause the original is 175 cm x 75cm, 300dpi. Even with my new iMac it did say: not enough Ram. I know i always push my computer to its limits but that it would happen so quick did surprise me. I would be a real bitch when i explain, why i call this image sleeping beauty. i better don't. He wasn't really sleeping here when i took the photos. We were cycling around a lake in Austria on hired bicycles and needed a break cause our butts did hurt from the bicycle saddle. And we were only half way. It was a lovely trip. The entire holiday was lovely. Can't wait till we did pack the car and drive towards the Alps again. But even more, i can't wait till sleepy beauty wakes up next to me again.

I need to go to the gym. We are planning a long distance walk trough the alps for about 15 days and i need to get in shape before i am able to walk up those hills. I was motivated and packed my stuff, set the alarm to go in the morning and went to bed. I woke up just before the alarm would go and looked at my alarm clock. Turned it off and turned around. Slept for a few more hours. Two days later my backpack still is ready to go to the gym laying next to my desk, hoping i find motivation again.

Todays story:

The best thing about digital cameras is that the cost of taking pictures is low and that gives lots of room to experiment or do crazy things. Like i did on todays image. After taking yesterdays picture , hanging out my window i placed the Rebel in the rain pipe, still holding it . Not able to see trough the viewer cause with this view, i sure would have fallen down when i look trough it. But with digital you have results in a sec and with a few attempts and changing angles a bit i got this. Those work people next door did look up, stunned (would have been a photo on its own), i admit it looks weird seeing a guy hanging out a window on the roof with a camera in the drain. I waved at them and they went back to work. I closed my window.

Todays story:

The neighbors left there home and the rental corporation rented a destruction company to tear down the last remains. Soon there will be no trace of who did live there before. I wish i had a shed like that and maybe the new neighbors would like it too. I think they should bring my fence up to the neighbor, there is no privacy in my garden, my neighbors all could look in my garden as i can look into there gardens. That means no nude sunbathing at home. probably i get neighbors with screaming kids that slam the doors, a barking dog and teenager who thinks he is a tug gangster. But i don't care, they get a gay neighbor.

Todays story:

If they would made a reality soap on gay life nobody would believe it. There is to much drama. Even Will and Grace would be shocked and Matt Lucas would wish he really was the only gay in the village. The best drama guarantee is sex and as soon as you open the door of the gay bar, drama welcomes you with open arms. You don't have to be a drama queen, drama is as a drunken drag bitching your life as soon as you open your closet. And than there are are those sniper gays who have there (sex)scope zero targeted precisely on your boyfriend. I don't think its jealousy that makes them targeting your boyfriend, i think they always want something they can't get and when they get it, they have sex and soon target a new one. Don't confuse them with players. Players aren't hiding behind a smokescreen called "i am your friend" as snipers do. They are hunters. Players you can have as a friend. When they hunt you or your boyfriend,that can be real fun. Than its up to you or your boyfriend what happens. It always is, thats why snipers going to be depressed desperate and lonely all there life. They would never have a real relation, cause if you can't trust yourself, who can you trust? Players hunt the new cause its exiting to hunt. The hunt is there game on its own. They like one night stands and many do that in a open relation. Some need confirmation for there self esteem others have lots of self esteem and like using that. Snipers are pitiful hopeless man. I know i sound pissed off. To be true i am. One of my thought so good friend turned out to be a sniper. My boyfriend was bullet proof but it made so much drama in my life. It pisses me off. Long distance relations are vulnerable. You don't see each other every day and trust and believe are the main ingredients. As all relations are but in a long distance relation things can easy simmer to the destruction of believe and trust. Specially when those snipers tell reverse stories about your boyfriend being unfaithfully and easy that aren't true at all. Dear sniper, get a life and grow up, pathetic little fucker...

Todays story:

Everyone is back to work. I did sleep till 10 and i wish there was a alarm clock waking me up, telling me to get out. And again, otherwise i would be late. Have a quick shower and rush to work. I would hate this day at work, were i would have to say happy new year to all my colleagues every 10 minutes and i would stop doing that after the lunch. At the lunch everyone would say how much they did eat and how they gonna eat healthy in 2010.I would eat something fat from the canteen cause i didn't had time to make lunch at home this morning. I would tell that i got drunk with new year. There wouldn't be time left to go in details cause work would be calling again. The boss would have ordered oliebollen (traditional oil-dumplings ) and no one would touch them cause we all had to much of those to eat in the last week. Just before i would go home i would eat one. Its a cold one but i don't mind. Happy i would cycle home trough the snow.

But the alarm clock didn't ring. I woke up and made a cup a coffee. Posting my blog. Dressed with only a bathrobe.Trying to find motivation to look for a job. i probably will sit behind my computer like this till lunch. Wasting time....

Todays story:

Its 5 am in the morning and i'm still awake. I went to bed but couldn't sleep. Got out and started posting and hoping i will get sleepy. Last night we went to see the Avatar movie 3D. A real nice movie. Sure one should see. I had doubts but a friend who went did convince me to go, as i try to convince you to go now. Although i'm not an action movie guy and this film contains a lot of action, some a bit much to over done in my taste, some moments did look like scenes from: Alien and the Terminator. The story line was better than i did expect. But the best was the environment they created. You must see this one and must see it in 3D. Don't wait for the dvd and if you can go imax. Shame there isn't a imax in Eindhoven but i think that would be awesome.

Todays story:

Its 2010. The first day in january is wasted with a hangover and the memories off a good party with to much alcohol. Now its the day to forget 2009. Move forward, focus on new things to get as much out of 2010 as possible. Am i intending to change things in 2010. Yes, first i intend to have less drama in my life. 2009 year was the year of drama. Not talking about losing my job here, but other people there drama that infected my life. Friends that turned out not being real friends, when the smoke curtain did disappear. In 2010 i'll focus on my own life and my life with LeRoy, find a job, go to the gym and get my train back on a track with a destination. In 2010 i gonna be more selfish to have a happy future with a dream, together with LeRoy.

Todays story:

With the new year approaching and in a trance of cleaning my Hasselblad image my mind did wander of and thought about the future and what i want to do. Thinking about the plan to cycle around the world. A plan i made after my return from a year in Australia. Cycling and making pictures. That ain't gonna happen but i feel a strong need to do something again. It might be a run a way from my situation, being unemployed and not finding a job. But does that matter? Walking might be better than cycling cause my experience with walking trips is that i'm closer to the ground and more in contact with were i am. More one with my surrounding. Something like a pelgrimage to Rome. Not to Santiago des compostella. Thats to trendy. I have this book of a pelgrimage Francis of Assisi. Thats gonna be my subject and route. But without organising anything. Just pack my backpack and walk. Only organise a budget, being in shape and learning background info, reading books about Francis.

When the last days of 2009 ticking away, melancholia fills the air. The snow did melt here and with it some of the dreams we had for 2009. Most of our dreams we didn't realize. Those we did realize made place for new dreams. Dreaming makes the time goes by and with time those dreams go by. Who stops dreaming wakes up on a morning with a sad jazz song in his head that is on repeat.

Todays story:

This idea did popped up in my had at christmas diner with friends.Someone wanted to know who believes in god and after talking about it for a while we went to genesis and compare it with the darwin theory and the design theory. I never heard about the design theory and had to ask explanation. A friend nicely did.

The church now a days try to place god in front of the darwin theory as god was the first start in darwin's theory. I think its a church way to desperate try to stay modern. But that new theory did make my brain wander off and i got this image. God the designer. Ofcourse gay and fitting arms as it were Prada shoes. That would be real modern. And why wouldn't god be gay? If god wouldn't be gay he would have taken more time than 7 days to create, i think. I guess there was a party at day 7. Thats when god created weekend.

Todays story:
After boxing day or as how we dutch call it, 2nd christmas day, its the traditional day of the puffing people. We all did eat to much and puff that we had to much turkey or whatever we did eat and tell that its enough for a while. Guess that for a while is not so long cause next week we'll do it again. I had a real nice tapas buffet yesterday (Leo if you ever read this, it was great, well organised) and as you could see on yesterdays image on christmas day i had a lovely diner at mom and dad. I didn't eat to much and wouldn't mind to do it again. Can i have a tapas like yesterday again, today?

This is the last image i post at my blog "old style" , i had to change the site cause there were problems with the link and the marinusblog.com is not linking correct at the moment. Its cause Apple changed the url to mobile me. This get fixed but i need a bit time for that cause i can't use dreamweaver anymore or spend another 500 euro on a new one so i switching to iWeb. Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope to to have everything smootly running as soon as i can.
